Clinical Trial Name:
CANRACE  - CANadian Registry of Acute Coronary Events.

Status: enrolling

FDA Clinical Trial number:
observational study; not applicable

Brief description:
CANRACE is an observational study that gathers and disseminates data on ACS patients and treatments used in the hospital management of these patients.  In contrast to a randomized controlled clinical trial, there is no imposed experimental intervention and treatment is determined solely by the patient’s physicians.  Data captured and reported in this registry will reflect a “real world” approach to the diagnosis and treatment of ACS patients.

Eligibility:
All patients with a diagnosis of ACS, including patients who die within the first few hours after hospital presentation, will be considered as potentially eligible to be enrolled in the registry.  Enrolled patients must also meet the study inclusion criteria and have given consent.

Inclusion/exclusion criteria:
Subjects 18 years or older with one of the Acute Coronary Syndromes as a presumptive diagnosis. Subjects must be alive at the time of hospital presentation with symptoms felt to be consistent with acute cardiac ischemia within 24 hours of hospital presentation
